Creating a Brighter Future at the FTTH Conference
We’ve heard it time and time again: industry events are in decline…no one goes to events anymore. Well, I’m here to tell you that the reports on the death of the trade show have been greatly exaggerated. I am just back from the FTTH Conference in Milan, and it was great to see the conference grow again this year. A record number of more than 3,000 delegates attended the conference, making it the largest FTTH event in the world.
• Content and service enablement continue to be hot topics of discussion.
• Operators of FTTH networks are starting to look into backhauling networks because they experience high traffic demand from their customers.
• Making FTTH networks profitable and setting up financing models are huge areas of interest.
In closing, I must say that this FTTH Conference was one of the best events I have been to in the last five years. There was almost no marketing spiel – just really excellent content to take back home. You can find out more about the conference here.
So see you all next year in Munich!
