As networks grow and become more complex, an increasing amount of network designers are turning their attention to power consumption. Along with spiraling costs, service providers are also facing a space issue as they try to jam more and more servers, racks and cooling equipment into a single location.
You may have heard that ECI Telecom has been accepted as a participant in the prestigious United Nations (UN) Global Compact initiative. All of us at ECI are very excited about this achievement, particularly since sustainability and responsible business practices are at the heart of the Company’s business approach and long-term strategy.
As winter descended on the lovely Madrid, members of the EUTC (European Utilities Telecom Council) assembled once again for the group’s annual conference. The key topic was the smart grid – its definition, services and challenges. Although it's been the key topic for several years, it was interesting to see the shift to a more mature stage and, as a result, the deeper questions and dilemmas that come along with that progress.
